Do What is Best for You
One of the best aspects of being over age 50 is the freedom that comes with choice and being okay with their decisions. I see sooo many women who keep asking permission of the world to be their authentic selves. As a result, they question whether what they think or how they act is okay. Too many are caught in harmful relationships because they are surrounded by those who THINK and EXPECT less of them. Don’t devalue yourself by living up to someone else’s standards. Those very standards may not be equal to all you can be. As a mature woman, you don’t need permission to make the BEST choice for you, not from your children, not your friends, and not your neighbors. You owe it to yourself to be the best version of you.
You are Valued
Many women have reared their children, taken care of other people’s children, raised grandchildren, etc. etc. These experiences are wonderful. At some point, you have to allow time to take care of you, GUILT-FREE. Being a mother does not mean you have to lose who you are and the desire to explore and grow. You are valued. You have gifts. Just because society may think we should be done with our life after 50 but this is not our truth.
