Look Beyond the Surface.
We are bombarded, every second it seems, of other people’s standards of beauty. While looking your best can absolutely lead to feeling great, it cannot be a substitute for inner beauty. If our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideals of beauty would be.
Do you know people who are physically beautiful as defined by society’s standards but could use some soul searching? How about those for whom the media has tagged as less than meeting their beauty standards yet possess some of the purest hearts on earth and full of kindness and concern?
Beauty Begins Within
Let’s remember that old adage that states “beauty is skin deep.” Remember these words the next time you are tempted to compare yourself to a movie star, or even the next-door neighbor. Beauty begins within. No amount of makeup will ever cover up the scars of people who are hurting and choose to hurt others. Keep telling yourself that you are beautiful “as is.” You are worthy of love, including your own.
