I love leopard. Leopard prints allow you to up the confidence level and can exude sensuality. No longer is leopard print reserved for the winter coat or high heel shoe. Read on to see how curvy women can wear leopard for any occasion.
What is Leopard Print?
Leopard print refers to big cat, snow leopard, cheetah, jaguar or bobcat prints. From the historical brow, caramel, and tan shades, the leopard print has evolved into a diverse spectrum of many colors.
A History of Leopard
Leopard print dates back two centuries ago and has been worn famously by the Ancient Greek, Kings, Queens, and American royalty (Jackie Kennedy). Leopard has fallen in and out of fashion over the years and was absent from much of the nineteen century.

Its resurgence came back in the 20th Century and has never left. Once seen as representative of sordid attire, the leopard print gained respectability when Jackie Kennedy wore a coat made of real leopard skins in 1961, designed by Oleg Cassini. Oh, what a scandal it caused. Leopard print on curvy women worn in various outfits from business to evening gala to outerwear brings instant pizazz.
Leopard is Here to Stay!
Every few years, a major design house will devote much of his or her signature line to leopard, followed by a rush of gorgeous leopard designs on the store shelves. Right now, leopard is back in full force so it is time to take advantage and spice up your wardrobe!
How to Wear Leopard
Leopard looks particularly chic on women over 50 as it is a swarm of color that mixes up the completely monotone or drab wardrobe that can be found in too many closets! Leopard print on curvy women is the perfect for hiding our problem areas that we may want to conceal while still being chic!
Leopard can be bold or subtle but be careful not to wear too many leopard print items at the same time. Don’t let the leopard print overpower your look.
My usual rule is one article of leopard at a time. If you have a leopard blouse, go for a solid skirt. If you wear a leopard dress, go for solid shoes.
When to Wear Leopard
Sport your leopard print in outfits from business to evening to outerwear. It is no longer reserved for coats or shoes! It is perfect for curvy women’s clothes.
Evening Wear
Casual Wear
Businesswear
I prefer subtle shades of leopard for business attire and usually either in a blouse OR skirt OR pair of shoes. Of course, it depends upon your setting. For very conservative careers such as banking, it may be inappropriate for any type of leopard garment on the outside. Use muted leopard colors for business attire and up your workwear game. But the underwear is another possibility bankers!

Lingerie
Wear leopard in your lingerie. No matter your attire, the time can be right for leopard. Spice up your undies underneath that tailored business suit. There is power in leopard panties!
Leopard Shoes
Leopard is not reserved just for clothing. Shoes with a leopard design are available in every style from stilettos to kitten heels to flats to sandals.
