The other day, I was visiting Atlantic City for the first time. Strolling down the boardwalk, I had just finished buying way too much salt water taffy when something caught my eye that quite literally stopped me in my tracks; not just a beautiful dress on a mannequin but the prominent “one size fits all” sign hanging from it. I literally burst out laughing right there in front of a thousand people because I couldn’t believe that anyone still thinks that there is a single item of clothing which will fit every person on the planet!
Curvy women especially know the torture of finding the right fit, especially when shopping online. I myself have outfits in my closet from a size 14 to a 24 and everything fits and I don’t even want to think about how much time and money I’ve wasted over the years buying and returning, then buying and returning, then buying and returning, you get the idea.
Thankfully, plus size subscription services have put an end to our torture! While each company’s process is slightly different, the general idea is that you pay a small monthly fee and can choose several outfits to try at once for no additional charge. After they arrive, you can return any you don’t like right away and be sent other options while enjoying the ones you do like.
Some subscription services let you keep the ones you like as long as you want but will only send you another outfit once they’re returned. Others require that you return all choices within a set amount of time, so make sure to read the fine print!
