While perusing social media, I often see this question posed in many of the over 40 and over 50 age groups. What would you say to your younger self? It is easy in hindsight to say the right things and share all of the right answers with younger versions of ourselves. But what about right now? Can’t we be willing listeners of our own advice in our present being? It is never too late to learn.
It is Never Too Late to Listen
Let’s start taking the advice we are so willing to give to others. It is never too late to listen to our own wisdom. Is the advice financial? Let’s start saving more from each paycheck or giving more if we are able do so. Are you really careful about where you are loaning money? Do we tell our younger selves to kinder? Let’s start today with our family. Do we want that young girl to love herself more? We can begin by embracing what we see in the mirror. Do we want her to be brave and pursue her wildest dreams? It is never too old to start over. What is it that you have always wanted to do? Would we ask that young girl to make sure her relationships are worthy of all she has to offer? Well, are we with those who consistently show us love and support?
Let’s Look in the Mirror and Listen
It is time to take advantage of all of the wisdom that we have to offer by listening to ourselves. What would you say to your younger self? It may not be too different than the things you need to hear now. Start talking.
